Tullamore has one of the best-preserved Georgian streetscapes in the Midlands. The “magnificent mansions” along High Street, Patrick Street and the Charleville Estate edge — the late-18th-century stone town houses built for prosperous Tullamore merchants — are nearly all on Offaly’s Register of Protected Structures, and Charleville Castle itself (Francis Johnston, 1812) sits on the western edge of town. That period stock takes a specific kind of window: flush-sash sightlines, slim glazing bars, a U-value that satisfies BER without breaking the conservation envelope.

It’s also a growing commuter town. Ridley Place on Collins Lane (126 A-rated homes), The Hawthorns, the 99-unit Clara Road scheme, the Church Road development and Kingswood off the Arden Road have added hundreds of new units in the last few years, with another 320+ approved across Offaly. Wright Windows manufactures for both ends of the market — R9 Legacy and traditional sliding sash for the protected stock, A-rated uPVC and aluminium for the new builds — all made 25km north of you at our Milltownpass factory.

The factory is on the R446 / M6 junction. From there it’s a straight run south on the R446 / R420 through Rochfortbridge and Daingean — under half an hour door to door. Comfortable for same-day surveys, deliveries and snag-list returns.

What We Install in Tullamore

From Georgian town houses to A-rated new builds.

Protected Structure work — R9 Legacy & sliding sash. The Georgian town houses along High Street, Patrick Street, Bury Quay and Charleville Road were built to the same proportions as Dublin’s Georgian fabric — tall, slim, multi-pane sash. Our R9 Legacy composite flush-sash replicates 19th-century timber sightlines at modern U-values and has been accepted on planning-controlled refurbishments. For exact heritage matches we supply traditional sliding sash in uPVC, aluclad or solid timber.

New-build A-rated — Collins Lane, Clara Road, Church Road. The current wave of new builds at Ridley Place, The Hawthorns, Clara Road and the Church Road scheme is being delivered A-rated. We supply uPVC and aluminium picture windows, tilt & turns and lift-and-slide or bi-fold patio doors for these sites — U-values down to 0.7 W/m²K on triple-glazed uPVC, 0.8 W/m²K on aluminium.

Suburban estate re-windows — full-house uPVC casement. The 1980s and 1990s estates around the Arden Road, Clonminch and Spollanstown typically come to us for full-house re-windowing — 10–14 A-rated uPVC casements with a composite or uPVC entrance door, usually 2–4 days on site.

Rural and bog-edge one-offs. Properties around the Slieve Bloom foothills, the Grand Canal and the Bog of Allen edge often want aluclad — aluminium externally for weather, timber internally for warmth. Manufactured to spec in Milltownpass with the U-value certs for SEAI grant applications.

Why Tullamore Chooses Wright

A 25-minute drive from a real Irish manufacturer.

Manufacturer, not reseller

Every Wright product is built in Milltownpass — 25km up the road. You aren’t buying through a Dublin showroom or a UK-system franchise. The same family-run Westmeath business takes the brief, builds the window and fits it.

R9 Legacy for the protected stock

Tullamore has more Protected Structures per head than most Midlands towns. Our R9 Legacy is the original composite flush-sash window — engineered for exactly this kind of 19th-century streetscape, with the U-value certs to support a conservation officer submission.

Our own installation team

Austin, Max, Frank, Declan — named Wright employees, not subcontractors. Same crew for survey, install and snag-list. Back at the factory at the end of the day, not flying in from a different county.

56 years answering the same phone

Family-owned since 1969. Donal handles after-sales personally from Milltownpass. Ring +353 44 922 4600 and you reach the factory — no call centre, no ticketing system.

Tullamore FAQ

Common Questions

Do you cover all of Tullamore and Co. Offaly?

Yes — we cover Tullamore town, the new-build belt around Collins Lane and Clara Road, the suburban estates and the rural townlands out toward Clonminch, Daingean, Rahan and Killeigh. The factory is 25km north so the whole of Offaly is in our daily delivery radius.

Can you do work on a Protected Structure on High Street or Patrick Street?

Yes — our R9 Legacy composite flush-sash was engineered for exactly this kind of Georgian streetscape and has been accepted on Protected Structure refurbishments. We’ll provide drawings, U-value certs and product specs to support your conservation officer submission, and supply traditional sliding sash in timber or aluclad if a like-for-like profile is required.

How fast can you fit windows in Tullamore?

Manufacturing lead time varies by season — ring +353 44 922 4600 for current timelines. Physical installation of a typical 3–4 bed re-window in a Tullamore estate is 2–4 days, kept weather-tight throughout. A single front door is usually a one-day job.

Do you supply Tullamore new-build developments?

Yes — we supply main contractors and architects directly from spec stage. The Ridley Place / Hawthorns / Clara Road / Church Road developments are all in our delivery radius.

Are your windows SEAI-grant eligible?

Yes — our ranges comfortably beat the 1.4 W/m²K SEAI threshold (down to 0.7 W/m²K on triple-glazed uPVC). The grant is paid through an SEAI Registered Contractor; we’ll supply the U-value certs your contractor needs.
