Aluminium Windows · Slim Sightlines, Big Openings
Aluminium Windows Ireland
Slim‑framed aluminium windows for contemporary homes, extensions and new builds. U‑values from 0.8 W/m²K. Sash weights up to 100kg. 100‑plus colour finishes including dual‑colour. Manufactured in Westmeath.
Aluminium is the material of choice for contemporary architecture. The frames are slim — meaning more glass and more light — the system is strong enough to carry sash weights up to 100kg, and the finish is colour‑stable for decades. For new builds, extensions, large openings and modern‑design projects, aluminium is hard to beat.
Wright Windows has been manufacturing aluminium windows at our Milltownpass factory in Co. Westmeath alongside our uPVC, timber and aluclad ranges since the early days of the business (founded 1969). We specify our aluminium system for superior thermal performance — achieving U‑values as low as 0.8 W/m²K — and finish every frame in your choice of 100‑plus colours including dual‑colour inside/out. We supply and install across Dublin, Meath, Westmeath, Kildare, Wicklow, Offaly, Longford, Cavan and Louth.

Why Aluminium
More glass. More light. More strength.
Aluminium is the strongest of the four common window materials by some margin. That strength translates directly into design freedom: slim frames (more glass per square metre), large sashes (we’ll carry up to 100kg per opening), and large overall sizes for full‑height glazing on extensions and new builds. The 75mm thermally‑broken frame is engineered specifically for Irish weather and BER targets.
Aluminium is also the longest‑lasting metal we work with. It doesn’t rust, corrode or warp. The powder‑coated finish is bonded into the frame and rated for 25‑plus years of colour stability. At end‑of‑life, the frame is 100% recyclable — it’s the most circular of the four materials we offer.

Best Suited For
Where aluminium wins.
- Contemporary new builds with large glazed openings or full‑height windows.
- Extensions where the architect has specified slim sightlines and a black or anthracite frame.
- Coastal and exposed sites where the powder‑coat finish needs to hold for decades without lifting.
- Commercial and high‑performance projects where sash weight, security or fire‑rated glazing matter.
Typical cost guidance
Aluminium windows in Ireland typically sit above uPVC on price per opening — expect a premium reflecting the slimmer profile and higher sash spec. Replacement aluminium windows usually fall in the €900–€1,700 each band depending on size and finish.
SEAI grants of up to €4,000 are available for windows (detached). Wright will confirm SEAI Registered Contractor arrangements at quote stage. Why Wright
Aluminium specialists — including Schüco.
Aluminium has been part of the Wright range since the early days of the business. We’re also the sole Irish supplier of Spitfire S‑500 aluminium entrance doors, built on Schüco profile — the same German engineering family we lean on for high‑performance window work. If you’re building or extending, ask about pairing our aluminium windows with Spitfire S‑500 entrance and lift‑and‑slide patio doors.

Aluminium Windows FAQ
Common Questions
What U-values do Wright aluminium windows achieve?
Our thermally‑broken aluminium system achieves U‑values as low as 0.8 W/m²K when triple glazed — comfortably A‑rated and SEAI grant eligible. Final value depends on overall window size and glazing spec.
Are aluminium windows cold to touch?
No — the system is thermally broken, which means a non‑conductive polymer separates the inside aluminium face from the outside aluminium face. Heat doesn’t bridge across the frame. The internal surface stays close to room temperature even in cold weather.
How big can a single aluminium sash be?
We can carry sash weights of up to 100kg per opening — the highest in our range. That allows for genuinely large openings, full‑height glazing on extensions and full‑leaf sliding panels. Ask us about your specific spec.
Can I get different colours inside and out?
Yes — dual‑colour finishes are standard. Common combinations: anthracite outside with white inside; matt black outside with cream inside; bronze outside with timber‑effect inside.
Aluminium vs aluclad — what’s the difference?
Aluminium is metal inside and out. Aluclad has a timber frame inside with an aluminium weather skin outside. Aluclad gives a warmer interior look and feel; aluminium gives slimmer sightlines and lower maintenance. Both reach the same level of thermal performance.
Are Wright aluminium windows recyclable?
Yes — aluminium is 100% recyclable at end‑of‑life. Of the four materials we manufacture, aluminium has the strongest circular credentials.
